In the heart of Rogers Park Baptist Church, Chicago, May 1994, OneLove took its first breath as a modest youth basketball outreach. Starting with a handful of five eager young men, the momentum was unstoppable. Within a mere eight years, our doors opened weekly to over 400 seeking souls. But it wasn't just about basketball. The church echoed with the rhythm from our recording studio, hummed with Bible study discussions, and filled with the aroma of shared meals. For many, it was a sanctuary—a haven of safety and breath of fresh air.
Our mission led us to Chicago's formidable west side, specifically, North Lawndale. Here, Godly Street Talk became our anthem, and the streets our congregation. OneLove's spirit resonated within the imposing walls of Cook County Jail's Division 10 Maximum Security. Over 18 transformative years, we reimagined floor B into "The Life Learning Dorm." A hub for tutoring, counseling, Bible studies, and above all, unwavering love. We aspired to uplift and mold them into the leaders we saw within. Our dedication also extended to the Juvenile Detention Center, where, for 13 years, we made a difference in the lives of 7,000 annual youths.
OneLove had dreams—specifically, of establishing Studio 29:11 on 16th street, envisioning it as a beacon of hope. Yet, even when the city's machinery stood in our path, our spirit remained unbroken.
A rebirth occurred in March 2015, when 30 young souls, grappling with life in a Chicago high school, banded together under the banner of OneLove. Against societal expectations, these young men not only scaled academic heights but also became a source of inspiration for their peers.
Now, OneLove's echo is global. From our captivating YouTube Channel, our soulful Neshama Sheli Family Gatherings, and Shabbat Services, our message of unity, love, and hope spreads far and wide. Our dedication endures, especially evident in our 30 year history, we continue to serve and uplift Yah's beloved children.
Join us in our journey, and be part of this inspiring story. OneLove awaits you.
