In March 1994, Dana Stevens' life was forever changed. While walking home from church on Chicago’s west side, he was brutally attacked by five young Black men who left him with three haunting words: “Welcome to racism.” The physical wounds healed, but those words ignited a deep, unrelenting need to understand the pain behind them. That moment marked the beginning of a 30-year journey—one that led Dana to immerse himself in the inner-city Black communities of Chicago, forging unbreakable bonds and dedicating his life to justice, truth, and transformation.
For 18 years, Dana volunteered at Cook County Jail’s Division 10 Maximum Security, bringing hope to incarcerated men, and for 13 years, he served at the Juvenile Detention Center, mentoring over 7,000 youth annually through the Victim Impact Panel. On the streets, he became known as “Revy’D,” walking alongside young men, building trust, and breaking cycles of despair. He transformed an old church fellowship hall into a community hub, drawing over 350 youth each week for basketball, meals, recording sessions, and mentorship—creating a safe haven where dreams could flourish.
In 2014, Dana had a life-altering revelation that redefined his mission. A voice beyond the physical realm spoke with undeniable clarity: “They are not cursed; they are my chosen, precious children.” In that instant, he understood that his decades in Chicago were not just about living among a community labeled Black or African American, but about awakening to a deeper truth—their true identity as the Hebrews of the Bible. This profound realization ignited an even greater conviction, driving him to uncover, proclaim, and fight for the truth.
Today, Dana’s movement, OneLove, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to justice and truth. His outreach extends far beyond social media, where he fearlessly speaks against racism and white supremacy to his 70,000 plus social media followers. He travels the world—speaking in the U.S., Nigeria, Indonesia, and Singapore—boldly proclaiming the truth about his Black Family’s heritage. His message is raw, unapologetic, and transformational.
In Dana’s words, “I’d rather be hated for speaking truth than liked for remaining silent.” His journey is one of love, resilience, and fearless truth-telling—one that challenges, inspires, and calls us all to see beyond the illusion.
This profound journey, spanning three tumultuous decades, unfolded in the heart of Chicago. It was March of 1994 when the chilling words, "Welcome to Racism," pierced through the depths of my soul, reshaping the very essence of my being. Fueled by an unyielding desire to grasp the incomprehensible pain emanating from the lives of those five young souls, I turned to the heavens, beseeching God for divine understanding
Guided by divine providence, my journey into understanding racism commenced as I built relationships with those hanging on the streets. I spent years engaging in heartfelt conversations with my Black brothers confined within the cold, unforgiving walls of our unjust correctional institutions. I stood in the classrooms of our inner-city youth, bearing witness to the injustices ingrained within our educational system towards my Black family. Along this challenging path, the veil shrouding the insidious realities of systemic racism was forcibly lifted. The prejudice, injustice, and unbridled hatred, fueled by the relentless grip of white privilege, finally unveiled the raw pain behind those chilling words: "Welcome to Racism."
Yet, with understanding came another pressing question: Where did this hatred originate? This inquiry drove me deeper into my quest, fueled by an unyielding determination to unearth the roots and extinguish its source. Then, in August of 2014, a profound revelation descended upon me, penetrating my soul and illuminating the darkest recesses of my inquiry into the origins of racism. It felt as though the heavens themselves orchestrated this moment of epiphany. In humble obedience, I turned to Deuteronomy 28, where the echoes of our Black family's plight resonated with profound clarity. From this divine communion emerged my next book, "But Hebrews," a profound revelation destined to fulfill the prophetic words of Jeremiah 16:19: "God, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the Gentile nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, 'Our forefathers possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.’" Now, as we enter this era of distress, God's revelation of truth serves as our fortress and strength.
In the pages of this book lies a profound revelation that changed my life irrevocably, a voice from beyond the ordinary bounds of our world declared, "They are not cursed; they are my chosen, precious children." This revelation unearthed the root of the intense animosity my Black family has faced and illuminated a truth: for thirty years, living in Chicago, I wasn't just residing in a 'Black' or 'African American' community. I was not merely cohabiting with those informally known as 'Negroes' or 'People of Color.' I was, in truth, dwelling amidst the Hebrews.
As you journey with me through these revelations, a moment of choice awaits you. The truth I share did not arise from any human source. It emerged from a distinctive, resonating voice that rang in my ears. Therefore, you must consider three potential realities: either I am delusional, the voice I heard belonged to Satan, or it was indeed the voice of The Most High Yah (God) that sought me out on that pivotal Saturday night of August 9th, 2014. From that transformative night forward, my message has been unyielding: We have been subjugating the true Hebrews!
This book isn't merely a collection of words—it's a challenge, a journey of exploration, and a call to awakening that dares you to question, learn, and hopefully accept a truth that strays from the familiar path. As you delve deeper into each page, I encourage you to embark on this expedition with a receptive heart, ready to confront a reality that has been deliberately concealed for centuries. I urge you to test your convictions, welcome the discomfort that comes with the unknown, and emerge with a more enlightened understanding.
These are not just words to be read but a catalyst for change, a provocation to question your beliefs, and an opening to uncover a truth that could reshape our world. So, I invite you to join me on this journey—a voyage years in the making, one that continues with each word you read, a journey that paves the way towards the discovery of the newly acknowledged Hebrews!
